1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly: name, email address, work history, skills, and career accomplishments you choose to enter. We also collect attestations and verifications from other users on your behalf.

We automatically collect basic usage data including IP addresses, browser type, and pages visited to maintain security and improve the service.

2. How We Use Your Information

Your information is used to:

• Provide and maintain your career identity profile
• Facilitate verification and attestation between users
• Display your public profile to other users (only what you choose to publish)
• Send service-related communications
• Maintain platform security and prevent abuse

3. Default Privacy & Visibility

All career data you enter is private by default. Nothing is shared, displayed, or searchable unless you explicitly choose to make it visible. There are two ways your data becomes visible to others:

• Public Profile: You may choose to publish a public profile with selected career entries. Only the entries you specifically add to your public profile are visible.
• Ready for Hire: You may opt in to a "Ready for Hire" status that makes your verified profile visible to approved recruiters on the platform. You can turn this off at any time, immediately removing your profile from recruiter search results.

If you have not published a profile or enabled Ready for Hire, your career data is visible only to you.

4. What We Never Do

• We never sell your personal data to third parties
• We never share your private career data without your explicit opt-in
• We never use your data for advertising or ad targeting
• We never scrape or harvest data from external sources without your permission
• We never expose your data to recruiters unless you have enabled Ready for Hire

5. Your Control

You control what is visible at every level. You can unpublish your public profile, disable Ready for Hire, or remove individual entries at any time — changes take effect immediately. Anonymous favorites show only a count, never names.

6. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (TLS), hashed passwords (bcrypt), and access controls. Your data is stored on secured servers with regular backups.

7. Data Retention & Deletion

You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.
